Joel serves as a Policy Analyst for Ecogy Energy. As a policy analyst, Joel assists primarily with policy research, watchdogging, lobbying and drafting tasks. He is also learning the intricacies of tracking local, state, and federal solar policy, creating well-informed comments in response to incentive program proposals to influence the structure of solar programs across the Northeast, and engages in solar stakeholder discussions. Primarily, his focus is contributing to expanding Ecogy’s operation and network in the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware markets.

Prior to joining Ecogy, Joel worked as a Research Assistant for Professor Hannah Wiseman at the Pennsylvania State University conducting research on decentralized energy policies and programs in New York, California, and Pennsylvania. He also interviewed regulators in these States and assisted in organizing a workshop on decentralized energy. Prior to Penn State, he garnered experience working as an energy and business attorney in Lagos, Nigeria. His experiences have led him on this path of working to promote clean energy.
