Commercial Solar Finance Sales Associate (Brooklyn, NY)

    Compensation: Competitive hourly pay + Commission and benefits

Ecogy is seeking a qualified Solar Sales Specialist to join their Brooklyn office. This position seeks highly motivated and innovative individuals to work in an exciting and challenging environment where teamwork and communication are vital to the success of the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Cold call prospects with value proposition
  • Research and identify project opportunities
  • Generate leads with commercial/industrial/non-profit/ and municipal prospects in multiple regions and states
  • Research property records, municipal databases, and other publicly available information for property details
  • Create a database of prospects
  • Qualify prospects for size and economics
Qualifications:
  • Extremely strong communication and interpersonal skills for both clients and colleagues
  • Excellent research skills
  • High level of comfort making cold-calls
  • Energetic and self-motivated
  • Ability to establish a rapport with potential customers and request necessary information
  • Knowledge of sales tactics used in qualifying prospects
  • Able to multi-task by efficiently using time and resources

Master Electrician (Brooklyn, NY)

    Compensation: TBD based on experience
    Start Date: Immediate opening available
Ecogy is seeking a qualified Master Electrician to be actively involved in our operations and maintenance program. This position seeks flexible, highly organized individuals to work on behalf of Ecogy in the field on a variety of solar PV and energy monitoring systems in our portfolio. Extensive travel is required for this position.

Responsibilities:
  • Complete electrical site surveys for new solar PV projects
  • Test new equipment and systems during installation with our EPC partners
  • Install Ecogy’s energy monitoring platform, the EcoNode, for new clients
  • Ensure Ecogy’s portfolio of solar PV systems are electrically safe and running efficiently
  • Repair electrical equipment as needed
  • This position will require travel for 80% or more of weekly hours
Qualifications:
  • Preferred 3 years of commercial PV experience
  • Master electrician license
  • Must have a valid driver license
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to travel often is a must
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and think critically to address issues as they arise



Internships (Fall - 2019)

Business Development Intern (Brooklyn, NY)

In this position you will aide the development of potential new projects and projects in the pipeline. You will contact potential clients and prepare and present solar and storage proposals. You will also analyse potential clients’ electricity bills, design solar system sketches, and work with a financial model to determine the viability of the business model. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the clean energy space, be a comfortable communicator in all settings, and enjoy the challenge of start-up life.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze financial models to determine their viability
  • Foster relationships with industry participants
  • Participate in strategic discussions on business opportunities as they align with policy movements
  • Contribute to our internal knowledge base of policy and data assets
Qualifications:
  • You are passionate and open-minded about the solar industry
  • You have experience working in the energy industry or demonstrated understanding of the energy transition
  • You are comfortable in a distributed work environment and have complete command of MS Office
  • You enjoy working in teams, but can problem solve effectively without instruction
  • You have strong oral and written communication skills

Engineering Intern (Brooklyn, NY)

In this position you will assist in the design of commercial scale solar PV electric systems by drafting drawing sets using Auto CAD with an experienced engineer as a mentor. You will gain an understanding of code compliant PV system design and help to expand our CAD library. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the clean energy space, pay close attention to detail, and enjoy the challenge of start-up life.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft module layouts and site plans to proper scale
  • Draft electrical single and three line diagrams
  • Update and expand CAD library per standard product specifications
  • Collaborate with Director of Engineering to navigate designs through utility approval and permitting
  • Help research solar and battery storage solutions
Qualifications:
  • You are passionate and open-minded about the solar industry
  • You are pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering (or related field) through an ABET accredited program and have a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • You are interested in electrical power systems, eager to learn and not afraid to ask questions
  • You work meticulously in both independent and collaborative settings
  • You have strong oral and written communication skills

Project Management Intern (Brooklyn, NY)

In this position you will work with across all the teams at Ecogy to support projects at different stages of the development, engineering, and construction process. You will attain quotes from EPCs and solar system manufactures to support the development of the projects, maintain and log legal transactions associated with each project, and perform other administrative tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the clean energy space, be a comfortable communicator in all settings, and enjoy the challenge of start-up life.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a paralegal to monitor and edit legal documents
  • Manage administrative tasks and scheduling
  • Organize database conventions and software to manage business processes (no coding required)
  • Support the procurement process for different projects across the portfolio
Qualifications:
  • You are passionate and open-minded about the solar industry
  • You have experience working in the energy industry or demonstrated understanding of the energy transition
  • You consider yourself highly organized and capable of handling changing priorities
  • You are comfortable in a distributed work environment and enjoy working in teams
  • You have strong oral and written communication skills
